Biodegradable non-woven fabric
Not only environmentally friendly, but also a non-woven fabric that enables cost reduction through its biodegradable functionality.
This is a biodegradable non-woven fabric developed primarily from PBAT. Traditional biodegradable non-woven fabrics mainly use PLA as their material, which presents a significant cost increase as a high hurdle. In recent years, biodegradable plastics have gained attention as part of the efforts towards the SDGs, but they tend to have a cost increase compared to petroleum-based plastics. While the aspect of "biodegradable = environmentally friendly" tends to be highlighted, there are actually cases where costs can be reduced throughout the entire process. Biodegradable plastics are literally materials that can be safely decomposed and are harmless when properly processed after use, so they have the potential to simplify the processes of collection, sorting, and disposal. For example, with non-woven fabric made of polyethylene (PE), the disposal process involves collection, sorting, and ultimately requesting a waste disposal company to pick it up. However, with biodegradable non-woven fabric, disposing of it in compost can significantly reduce these processes, potentially leading to cost reductions.
